Talking With Your Doctor About Incontinence

Incontinence is a big problem for many people, both young and old. It can be very embarrassing, especially if you are unprepared for it. It’s a good to talk with your doctor about the incontinence problems that you are having because it can mean that there’s something else that is going on with your body. Here are some tips that you can use for talking with your doctor about incontinence. When you remember these tips, you will find that it’s much easier for you to talk with him or her and that you aren’t so embarrassed about it.

·         Write down frequency – The first thing that you want to do is to write down how often you have problems with incontinence. This is going to help them to know how bad the problem is and look for a pattern that there might be. You may not know that there is a pattern, but doctors often see things that we are unable to see.

·         Write down any triggers – The second thing that you want to do is to write down anything that seems to trigger the problem with incontinency. Think of the times that it happens to you and what happened during the day. Were you under a lot of stress? Did you laugh? Did you cough? What was happening when you had the ‘accident’?

·         Medical history – The third thing that you should do is take your medical history with you. If you are a woman and it’s urinary incontinence, it could have come on because of childbirth. If you are an older man, it could be because of a prostate problem. If you are going to a new doctor and they don’t have your medical history, things that you have done or you have had done can make a difference, as to why you are incontinent.
·         Diet – The fourth thing that you want to talk about is your diet if you are having trouble with something other than urinary incontinence.  If you are having trouble with bowel incontinence, it could be because of something that you are eating. Make sure that you are writing what you are eating down both when you have trouble with incontinence and when you are not having trouble with incontinence.
·         Relax – The final thing that you should do when you are talking to your doctor about incontinence is to relax. Don’t be embarrassed. Many people have this problem and you are not going to tell your doctor anything that he or she hasn’t heard before.  So make sure that you are telling the doctor everything and being very honest when you have your discussion.

These are the five things that you should remember when you are talking to a doctor about an incontinence problem. They are going to help your doctor to figure out why you are having the problem and what can be done to help.  You have to tell the doctor everything about what is going on. Otherwise they may miss something that could give them the answers.

Your doctor could recommend an incontinence clamp, an absorbent brief, a catheter or some other solution. Many incontinence supplies may be purchased at medical supply companies that offer wholesale prices, to help keep the cost down. Keep a copy of your prescription, as these are required by law when buying some products.

What's the Difference Between a Squeezer Klip and a J Clamp?

When a man has a problem with incontinence, they often look to incontinence clamps to help them to control the problem. Two of the most popular incontinence clamps are the squeezer klip and j clamp?
But what are the differences between these two clamps? We’ll look at them individually and compare the two of them to help customers make a better decision on which they should choose.

Squeezer Klip

Gyrx Squeezer Klip Incontinence Penile Clamp

The Squeezer Klip is a hinged incontinence clamp that has an upper and lower arm that are lined with foam. The bottom arm presses against the man’s penis to easily close his urethra which stops the flow of urine. The clip’s upper arm straddles the vascular group of the penis and therefore allows the blood to keep flowing to the penis so that the clip is worn comfortably.

J Clamp

Jackson Medical J Clamp Incontinence Clamp
Instead of having two arms that are lined with foam and compress the penis, the J Clamp is a frame that is made of plastic and lined with a cushion made of rubber for comfort. The urethra is compressed using a barrel.

The amount of pressure is completely adjustable, and thanks to the contour of the device’s upper portion, the penile vascularity is not compromised. The man is able to continue all of his activities when he is wearing the J Clamp and he does not have to take his pants down to urinate because it will fit through the opening of a pants zipper.

Both of these incontinence clamps are effective ways to keep from having accidents each day. They are both comfortable and they both allow the blood flow to continue to the penis. Both of these incontinence clamps are worn effectively by men. The one that is preferred by a man is simply a matter of taste and lifestyle.

How to Deal With Male Incontinence

Incontinence is something that a lot of people have to deal with each and every day, both men and women.  If you are a man who has to deal with male incontinence, here are some things that you can do to in order to help yourself each and every day.

Use an Incontinence Clamp – Incontinence clamps are something that can really help men with their problems with incontinence.  There are different kinds of clamps that they can choose from and they can be used for the short of the long term.

Try to train your bladder – Some of the men find that they’re able to train their problems with urinary incontinence. One of the approaches is to begin taking bathroom breaks whether you have to go or not.  This is going to help you to gain control and eventually you can start extending the time. As you do this more and more, you may find that you have your incontinence under control. It won’t happen overnight but it has helped a lot of men.

Flex the Muscles – Even though most men think of the Kegel exercises as something that women do, there are a lot of men that have found that they are useful for strengthening the bladder muscles. Make sure that you are flexing the correct muscles because otherwise you may find that you’re increasing the bladder pressure. A good approach is to squeeze the same muscles as if you’re trying to stop yourself from breaking wind.  Those are the muscles that should be worked on.  Tense the muscles for 3 seconds then you want to relax them for 3 seconds.  A good idea is to do this about 15 minutes each day and they can be done anywhere at any time.  This may take anywhere from 3-6 weeks but a lot of men find them to be useful.

Keep a Journal – It’s a good idea to find out what your body is doing by keeping a journal. Write down what you drink and how much, how often you are going to the bathroom, and then how often you find yourself leaking. You should also write down what the symptom triggers, like drinking a lot of coffee or bending over.  This is going to help your doctor to find out how bad the symptoms are and how your life is being affected.

Male incontinence can be uncomfortable and it can be embarrassing.  But when you use the three tips above, you may find that the problem isn’t as bad as it used to be.  Training your bladder, doing exercises, and keeping a journal can all help you know what triggers the symptoms and help your body to prevent the accidents.

Don’t let Urinary Incontinence Get in the Way of Your Active Lifestyle

Urinary incontinence is something that plagues a lot of men, from the young to the elderly.  But chances are that if you walked by a man who has urinary incontinence on the street, you wouldn’t know it.

Men who have urinary incontinence have found that incontinence clamps are a great option to help them to stop the embarrassing problems of urinary leaks when they are out in public or even at home.

Men who use incontinence clamps are able to do just about everything that anyone else is able to do. They are able to exercise, they are able to ride a bike, they can hike, and they are able to do anything that they want to do. With an incontinence clamp, there’s no worry about odor and leaking that you might find with adult diapers.

With a clamp, if it’s applied correctly, the man doesn’t have to worry about any leaking.  A man who has incontinence shouldn’t make his life revolve around his problem and he shouldn’t worry about going out in public because he’s afraid that he’ll have an accident.

You are a man and you want to have a life of your own. Don’t let your incontinence rule your life and determine what it is that you can and can’t do. You can live a full life and you can do anything that you want to do. Go out and take a walk, ride your bike, go on a plane trip and have a great vacation. No one should worry about leaks when there are so many solutions that you can choose from to help with your problem.

You have incontinence but incontinence doesn’t have to have you unless you allow it to. Go out and enjoy life – it’s ready, willing, and able to show you how great it can be!

How Does a Incontinence Clamp Work?

Something that a lot of men, especially those who are older and who have medical problems, suffer from is incontinence.  One of the things that men hear about that helps with the problem of incontinence is the incontinence clamp. But before they decide to use this, they want to know how an incontinence clamp works. Here is some information about how incontinence clamps work and some other information that you might find useful about incontinence clamps.

An incontinence clamp is something that is put on the penis and which stops the flow of urine from the penis. It compresses the urethra and since the urethra is what expels the urine from the body, it stops the embarrassing leaks that are associated with incontinence.

Even though they all do the same thing, there are different types of incontinence clamps that men can choose from. But all of the incontinence clamps have some general guidelines that are important to remember.

·        Schedule – It’s a good idea to loosen the clamp every 2 hours so that the bladder is emptied.  If the clamp is left too long, it can cause dangerous and painful issues.

·        Adjustment – When you are first wearing the clamp, it’s a good idea to see amount of pressure is right for you. If you don’t have the clamp tight enough, you will have leaks.  If the clamp is too tight, it can restrict the flow of blood as well as irritating and injuring your skin.

Incontinence clamps are something that can really help stop embarrassing leaks due to incontinence.  Talk to your doctor about your incontinence problems and see whether or not an incontinence clamp is right for you. Many men have found them to be useful and that wearing an incontinence clamp can help them to live a normal life.http://www.vitalitymedical.com/greenwald-surgical-baumrucker-incontinence-clamp.html

What is an Incontinence Clamp?

When a man is looking for a way to control his incontinence, sometimes he is going to use an incontinence clamp to stop embarrassing accidents. But what is an incontinence clamp? Here is an introduction to incontinence clamps.

Incontinence clamps are also known as penile clamps and they are external items that are used for the prevention of urine leaks and for managing male incontinence.  they’re available in a lot of materials and styles, but they will work on the principle of compressing a man’s penis and effectively closing off his urethra, so that no urine will leak through.

The frame of the incontinence clamp might be made either of plastic or metal, and some of the clamps are rigid while others are simply semi-rigid and therefore are adjustable.

The clamps that are strap style, which are usually known as soft clamps, penile straps, or continence cuffs, are also something that’s available. This is a flexible and adjustable strap that has either a bump or a ridge that’s placed against the urethra on the penis’ underside. The strap will then by tightened so that the urethra’s compressed.

Incontinence is something that is embarrassing for just about anyone, but especially for men. When they are looking for something that can help them with avoiding leaks that can happen at the most inopportune and embarrassing time and they prefer not to wear adult diapers, one of the things that they might choose to use is an incontinence clamp.

The incontinence clamp is something that’s effective and discreet for managing problems with incontinence. But a man should always consult his doctor to find out whether or not they are something that he should use, especially if he has other medical problems. Although they are safe for most people, it’s always better to safe and know for sure.
